12 Haikus & A Year

Silly man walks down

Fresh snow and spilled coffee mix

Ouch, that’s got to hurt

-January

Winter ends tonight

Plum blossoms bloom tomorrow

The air has no scent

-February

Snow begins to melt

Trickling down the wooden cracks

Cheers! It’s time to drink

-March

A cold breeze passes

Light breaks through the overcast

Finally, it’s spring

-April

A water droplet

Falls on the iris flower

Ouch! It’s in my eye

-May

The streetlights flicker

A hum in the humid air

Fireflies fly tonight

-June

A layer of mist

Faint shadows fly overhead

The first catch of morn

-July

Late summer peaches

Dusting off worn-out notebooks

What fragrant hellos

-August

Sweet morning kisses

The bus opens with laughter

Time to hide my face

-September

A pile of raked leaves

A child in yellow jumps in

A swirl of colours

-October

Red cheeks and chapped lips

Flocks of geese fly overhead

Time to go back home

-November

Fogged window

Snow falling

Time for change

- December
