Good Night

The night came dressed in city lights

perfumed with 24-hour eateries

and wine

She leans over rooftop terraces,

declaring dreams and hollering hellos

down below

While thoughtless writers wait for her

through fogged windows and

lonely men slow dance to her songs

She leads hungry activists and skinny

dipping enthusiasts across Brooklyn bridge

Then rides the empty subway car till dawn
